Welcome to Brigid Scrolls!
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our mobile application, Scrolls MD, and our website, BrigidScrolls.com (collectively, the “Services”).

By downloading, installing, or using the App or Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our Services.



1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Scrolls MD or BrigidScrolls.com, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Terms, all applicable laws, and any other guidelines we may publish.

If you are using our Services on behalf of an institution or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to do so and that your organization accepts these Terms.



2. Ownership and Intellectual Property

All content within the Scrolls MD app and BrigidScrolls.com — including, but not limited to, MCQs, notes, flashcards, mock tests, images, layouts, and code — is owned by Brigid Scrolls (Pty) Ltd, its licensors, or content partners.



You may use the app and its content for personal, educational purposes only.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or sell any material from the app or site without prior written permission from Brigid Scrolls.

All trademarks, logos, and service names are the property of their respective owners and may not be used without authorization.



3. License to Use

Subject to these Terms, Brigid Scrolls grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the app for personal study purposes.

You may not:



Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.

Circumvent in-app purchases or licensing mechanisms.

Use the app to create competing educational platforms or derivative works.

Share paid or premium content publicly or commercially.



4. Purchases and Subscriptions

All in-app purchases are processed through Google Play Billing (and, if applicable, the Apple App Store).
Brigid Scrolls does not process or store any payment information directly.



All sales are final, except where required by applicable consumer laws.

Refunds, where applicable, are handled by the platform through which the purchase was made.

If a purchase fails or is cancelled, premium access will not be granted.

Misuse or tampering with payment verification may result in account suspension or loss of access.



5. Advertising

Scrolls MD displays ads served by Google AdMob.
These ads may collect limited device information (such as ad interactions or identifiers) to improve ad relevance and prevent fraud.

You can control personalized ads via your device settings:



Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization

iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking → Allow Apps to Request to Track

Brigid Scrolls has no control over the content of third-party ads and is not responsible for any products or services advertised.



6. Offline Operation

The Scrolls MD app is designed to function primarily offline.
You may access most educational features without an internet connection.
However, features such as ads, purchases, or updates may require internet access.



7. Content Accuracy and Medical Disclaimer

The Scrolls MD app provides educational material only and is not a substitute for professional medical education, clinical experience, or medical advice.

While every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, medical knowledge is constantly evolving, and information may become outdated or vary by region and curriculum.



The content (including MCQs, explanations, and notes) is intended for study support and exam preparation, not clinical decision-making.

Always consult official medical guidelines, textbooks, or professional authorities before applying medical knowledge in practice.

Brigid Scrolls does not guarantee that any specific exam performance, score, or outcome will result from using the app.

Use of the app does not establish any tutor–student or professional relationship between the user and Brigid Scrolls.

By using the app, you agree that Brigid Scrolls and its authors are not liable for any inaccuracies, omissions, or outcomes resulting from reliance on the information provided.



8. User Conduct

You agree not to use the App or Site in any manner that:



Violates any applicable laws or regulations;

Attempts to access premium features without valid purchase;

Uploads or transmits malicious code, viruses, or unauthorized data;

Harasses, abuses, or threatens other users;

Impairs or interferes with app functionality or servers.

Brigid Scrolls reserves the right to restrict or terminate access to any user who violates these rules.



9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:



Brigid Scrolls (Pty) Ltd, its officers, developers, and content contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

This includes, but is not limited to, data loss, interruption of service, business loss, or reliance on educational content.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, or compatibility with all devices.

If any liability is found, it shall not exceed the total amount paid (if any) by you for app access or premium features.



10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Brigid Scrolls, its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, or losses arising from:



Your use or misuse of the app or its content;

Violation of these Terms;

Infringement of intellectual property rights or applicable laws.



11. Data and Privacy

Scrolls MD operates offline and does not collect or store user data.
However, third-party services such as Google AdMob and Google Play may process limited device data per their own policies.

12. Termination

Brigid Scrolls reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the app or services at any time, without prior notice, for any reason including:



Violation of these Terms;

Abuse of refund or license systems;

Fraudulent activity or unauthorized modification of the app.

Upon termination, all rights to use the app will immediately cease.



13. Updates and Modifications

We may modify or update these Terms periodically to reflect:



Legal or regulatory requirements,

Product updates or new features, or

Operational improvements.

Changes will be effective upon publication on BrigidScrolls.com or within the app.
Your continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.



14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa.
Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
